Squid Ink Sauce

Conserve Solo Sole

  • Pasta with squid ink is a classic Sicilian dish with its origin dated to a humble recipe (that traditionally does not want to discard parts of the cuttlefish), but is considered one of the finest recipes today with the pleasant fragrance from sea. These products, healthy and genuine, created by Solo Sole, are homemade using the oldest traditions of Sicilian cuisine and totally free of additives or preservatives.

Ingredients: Tomato paste, Squid ink, Squid chunks, White Etna Wine, Extra virgin olive oil, sugar, sea salt.

    Net Weight: 280g

  • Great with risotto or pasta, especially Tagliatelle.

A cook in Catania invented "u ripiddu nivicatu", translated "a snowy mountain": Black rice with cuttlefish, presented in a pyramid-like shape, with the tip topped with cottage cheese, topped off with a teaspoon of spicy tomato sauce to represent the Etna (Renowned volcano in Sicily) - dark, black, snow, and fire at its center.

  • Please keep product refrigerated upon opening the bottle of goodness :) Since our products are crafted from fresh ingredients free of preservatives, an effective way to keep the freshness and to prolong the shelf-life of the product, is to always ensure a film of Extra Virgin Olive Oil with a thickness of about 5 mm on the surface to prevent oxidation of product. Please consume within 1.5 months of opening the jar.
