Black figs originated from Mexico, but very widespread in Sicily, where it is still used in many recipes from the local gastronomic tradition. A delicacy prepared with summer fruits according to the traditional Sicilian recipes.
The jam is full of the natural sweetness of this fruit, giving it a unique elegant flavour.

The fig jam is excellent served for breakfast or for afternoon tea, also great in combination with hard cheeses, like Pecorino Siciliano DOP cheese, even with cheeses like cottage cheese or fresh goat cheese.
